When Hazrat Omar Radiullah Anhu left Medina for a visit to Syria and reached the "Sarg" area, General Abu Ubaidah Radiullah Anhu informed him that he was suffering from an epidemic plague in Syria. At that time, he postponed the trip and returned to Medina, but the commander of the army, Abu Ubaidah Radiullah Anhu, did not leave the affected area and returned to Medina. Hazrat Omar Radiullah Anhu wrote to the commander, Abu Ubaidah, on his return to Madinah.

'You need me very much. If my letter reaches you at night, then you will leave before dawn. And if day arrives, you will leave before evening. '

Reading the Caliph's letter, the commander of the army, Abu Ubaidah, realized that the Caliph wanted him not to suffer from the plague. However, the commander of the army, Abu Ubaidah Radiullah Anhu, complained to Hazrat Omar Radiullah Anhu about canceling the Caliph's state visit to Syria.


'O Amirul Mominin! Are you fleeing from the Taqdis appointed by Allah and returning to Madinah? '

But the commander, Abu Ubaidah, heard this from Hazrat Omar Radiullah Anhu. The way one gets hurt to a loved one. Because Hazrat Abu Ubaydah Radiullah Anhu was a much loved and loved vessel of the Caliph. Moreover, Abu Ubaidah Radiullah Anhu, the commander of the army, was one of the well-meaning companions of Paradise from the worldly Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam.


Abu Ubaidah in reply to the Caliph's letter

When General Abu Ubaidah realized that the Caliph did not want him to be infected with the plague. Then the commander wrote this letter in reply to the Caliph -

'O Amirul Mominin! I understand your need. I am among the Muslim Mujahideen. I am not expecting to save myself from the troubles that plague them. I do not want to leave them (Muslim Mujahideen). Until God makes a final decision between me and them.


So as soon as you receive my letter, withdraw your instructions to me and allow me to stay here with the Muslim Mujahideen. '

According to the guidance of Hadith, the commander of the army, Abu Ubaidah Radiullah Anhu, was correct. Because the Hadith narrated by Hadrat Abdur Rahman bin Auf Radiullah Anhu was also appropriate for the commander.

The Messenger of Allah (বলেছেন) said, "When you hear about the spread of pestilence in an area, do not enter it. And if an outbreak comes down in an area, and you stay there, don't go out there. ”(Bukhari)


Meanwhile, the Caliph Hazrat Omar Radiullah Anhu's commander, Hazrat Abu Ubaydah Radiallahu Anhu, read the letter and wept bitterly. The Muslims present when he saw her cry and asked him-

'O Amirul Mominin! Has Abu Ubaydah died? '

Hazrat Omar replied, "No, but he is near death."


The death of the commander

Hazrat Abu Ubaydah Radiullah Anhu, commander of the gospel of Paradise Muslim Mujahid, passed away shortly after being stationed in the plague-plagued plague. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Razioun.

Because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) declared himself - "Death in the plague (plague) is also a martyr for every Muslim." (Bukhari)


The honored companion of Hazrat Abu Ubaidah

"If Abu Ubaidah were alive, I would have made him a caliph for nothing."

Obedience to the Sunnah

He was not afraid of being attacked by the Muslim Mujahideen in the plague area. He politely appealed to the caliph to leave the Muslim mujaheed in the campaign and politely requested for his withdrawal. And it was also following the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).


The death of Hazrat Abu Ubaidah Radiallahu Anhur in the plague of the plague is also a great lesson for the Muslim Ummah. The virus-infected area does not have to leave and stay there. Adhere to precautionary measures.
